Bill Russell and Marilyn Nault – Together Since 1996
Bill Russell received the NBA Most Valuable Player award five times during his playing career. But we also can’t forget that he won 11 NBA championships and was named an NBA All-Star 12 times, all within a career that spanned 13 years.
But looking past his success as a professional basketballer, it’s easy to notice that the one other highlight of Russell’s life was his marriage to Marilyn Nault–at least until she passed in 2009. The couple exchanged vows in 1996 and were lucky to spend 13 blissful years together. In 2022, Russell made history when his No. 6 jersey was retired throughout the NBA.
