Speaking of female Serbian soldiers, it’s important to mention that Serbia was home to Milunka Savic, a WW I heroine considered history’s most decorated female soldier. She served between 1912 and 1919, breaking all rules to join the men fighting for Serbia’s freedom during the brutal Balkan Wars.
