Judging by the picture, it looks like the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have enlisted yet another female soldier who looks like a supermodel. But why does this happen?
It turns out it all has to do with the country’s mandatory military draft law. In Israel, military training is unavoidable whether you’re a man or a woman. What’s more impressive, though, is the fact that this rule started taking shape in 1948, back when the idea of women in the military was still a novelty.
