Alicia Keys may have been part of an ode to New York in “Empire State of Mind,” but she has her roots firmly placed in New Jersey. She was, of course, born in New York, explaining her passion for the place, but that didn’t stop her from settling in Jersey… for a short while.

The house notably has eight bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, as well as a movie theater for downtime and a recording studio for when Keys becomes expired. Keys eventually put it up for sale in 2015 and in 2021 released dual albums called “KEYS” and “Unlocked.”
