Eerie Abandoned Disney Attractions You Never Knew Existed
The Nostalgic Plaza Swan Boats
The Plaza Swan Boats may be a long-forgotten attraction in the Magic Kingdom, but its legacy lives on in the hearts of Disney fans. The ride provided a leisurely ride around the moat of the hub, offering a brief stop in Adventureland to circle the Swiss Family Treehouse.
The fleet of twelve vessels became five due to maintenance issues with their natural gas engines and guidance systems, eventually leading to the attraction’s closure in August 1983. Today, only one Swan Boat, the Snow White, remains in a private collection with a restoration project underway. People can find tributes to the attraction in the Magic Kingdom’s Skipper Canteen restaurant.
