Eerie Abandoned Disney Attractions You Never Knew Existed
Rocket To The Moon
Rocket to the Moon was one of the original attractions at Disneyland’s Tomorrowland when it opened in 1955. This simulated journey to the moon was depicted using two circular screens, one above and one below, with riders in the center. The ride continued until 1975 when Mission to Mars replaced it, which closed in 1992.
Six years after Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, the ride’s appeal had dwindled, leading to its closure. But in 1998, when Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port opened, it paid tribute to the location’s history with a scaled-down replica of the Moonliner placed next to the building.
