Eerie Abandoned Disney Attractions You Never Knew Existed

The Land Of Oz Might Be Reborn

The Land of Oz theme park in Beech Mountain, North Carolina, was once the top attraction in the Eastern United States after opening in 1970. Visitors could assume the role of Dorothy, walking down the Yellow Brick Road to visit characters from the classic story before meeting the Wizard in Emerald City.

Since the park was officially closed in 1980, much of it fell into disrepair over the years until its reopening in 1991 just for Independence Day. Since then, the management began hosting an annual Autumn at Oz and using the proceeds to continue working on renovating the park.
