Eerie Abandoned Disney Attractions You Never Knew Existed
Magic Kingdom’s Tropical Serenade
One beloved Disney attraction that opened with Magic Kingdom in 1971 was the Tropical Serenade. Guests would enter a round theater filled with perches of animatronic birds, flowers, and tikis. The main show was similar to Disneyland’s Enchanted Tiki Room but with a different pre-show featuring two birds named Clyde and Claude.
Tropical Serenade featured songs by more than 150 mechanical birds, tikis, and flowers, which included “The Tiki…Room” and “Hawaiian War Chant,” making it a guest favorite. Yet, in 1997, it closed simply to revive as a modified version, “The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management),” featuring characters from “The Lion King” and “Aladdin.”
