There's nothing like a cold scoop of your favorite ice cream on a hot summer’s day. Ice cream is the dessert of choice for people all around the world, in every season. Here we have some cool facts about the crazy flavors of ice cream from around the world:

• There is a kind of ice cream flavor in Tokyo, Japan, with octopus, horseflesh, shrimp and tongue.

• There is a pizza flavored ice cream in Philadelphia's Little Baby Ice Cream parlor.

• A ‘cold sweat; ice cream available at Sunni;s sky Homemade Ice Cream has peppers in it. The ice cream flavor is so spicy that the ice  cream buyer has to sign a waiver before purchasing the ‘cold sweat’.
• The first ice creams ever created were in Ancient China and Rome. But the modern version of ice cream that we consume today was first concocted in Italy.
• Maine has a chocolate emporium where butter-flavored ice cream which also has lobster meat in it.
• In Evanston, WY, it was suddenly made illegal to send ice creams on Sundays, and that is when the shop owners came up with ice cream sundaes. The ice cream soda was replaced with syrups to make the product legal, and the letter ‘Y’ in Sunday was replaced with the letter ‘A’ so that it is also not offensive to the religious leaders.
• The first floating ice cream parlor was made during the Second World War for soldiers serving in the Pacific by the US military, during the year 1945.
• Every year, the United States produces 1.6 billion gallons of ice cream on average.
• The largest amount of ice cream ever eaten was 16.5 pints by Miki Sudo in 2017. She ate the entire 16.5 pints of ice cream in a record six minutes.

• The latest trend in ice-cream making is artisan ice-cream. There are premium quality elite ice creams which are costlier than the average packaged ice creams sold commercially. In the United Kingdom and Ireland alone there are more than thousand artisanal ice cream parlors, making exclusive and expensive ice cream products.
• The popular ice cream chain Ben & Jerry's shares the business vision of ‘linked prosperity’ . According to this vision, they believe that a company’s shares and profits shouldn’t only benefit the company, but also its employees, suppliers, customers, shareholders and even the communities where the company is currently serving.
